You may know some of our employees as the people who collect your garbage and respond to your utility questions; who maintain your water system; who clear the streets; or who keep the City’s parks and recreation facilities clean and ready for your enjoyment. You may have relied on our fast response to a fire emergency. You may have asked us for directions as we monitored downtown parking, called us with a question about building permits and zoning bylaws, or shared your issues and concerns with us at a meeting. Maybe you worked with us as volunteers to plant trees throughout the community, helped to organize a community garage sale, or volunteered with different agencies within the City.

You can trust that employees are working behind the scenes to maintain the City’s technological infrastructure, processing your payments and requests, answering City phones, coordinating public meetings, drafting city policies and plans, and ensuring that your tax dollars are accounted for and used properly.

Executive

The City Manager is the administrative head of the City and is directly accountable to City Council and indirectly accountable to all the Steinbach citizens.  The City Manager is responsible for the effective overall management and leadership of the organization as well as implementing the directions of City Council and leading the employees of the City in executing the strategic plans of the community.

The City Clerk performs a variety of administrative work in the administration of the City government, including planning, organizing and maintaining the records management system as well as communicating official plans, policies and procedures to staff and the general public.
