Colombian by birth, Marco was adopted by Canada and into the Steinbach community.  An attorney by trade, painting is his true passion.  Marco was persecuted because of war and political interests, and during that time God placed in his hands the gift of art.  For him, art put colour in the times of sadness, allowed him to find calm in the midst of trouble and to reflect.

Although he was surrounded by a family of artists and musicians, he had never before attempted to create art himself.  HIs first strokes were spontaneous, free and some abstract geometric shapes.  He then started on the human silhouettes, and currently tends to create fine art with fine lines and impressionistic colours.

Marco paints with oils, because it can create solid, transparent and blurred colours.  It makes an excellent blend and gives the appearance of nobility.  As part of expanding his talents, he has practiced other techniques, including mural painting, metallic leaf, and metal effects.

Marco has never taken any formal art lessons and he credits all his abilities to God.  He hopes to bring joy to your senses through the exhibit.
